2 muggers injured in RAB gunfight

first_imgTwo muggers sustained injuries in an exchange of gunshots with a team of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in front of a market in Azimpur area of the capital on Tuesday afternoon, the elite force claim.RAB-10 director and additional deputy inspector general (DIG) of police Shahabuddin Khan told Prothom Alo, “A few members of a mugging gang were waiting inside two private cars that had stickers of police intelligence in front of the market.”Two ‘muggers’ were injured in an exchange of gunshots with a RAB team in Azimpur of Dhaka. The incident left two of the muggers injured while the others managed to flee the scene,” he added.The RAB boss further said the injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and they both are out of danger.Two pistols and bullets were seized.Earlier on 13 July, two people were injured in a “gunfight” with RAB men near the Dhakeswari temple in the city.Later, one succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.last_img
